CREATIVE DIRECTION NEWS

Creative Direction announces a new viral video online marketing service to meet demands of marketers in 2009.

Kokomo, IN / January 29, 2009 - In the survey, "US Online Advertising Spending", conducted by eMarketer.com in November 2008, it was noted that two-thirds of Internet users watched online videos in 2008. According to data just released by comScore Video Metrix, U.S. Internet users viewed 12.7 billion online videos during November 2008 alone. The expected increase of online video advertising viewers is estimated to reach 72.3% in 2009 fueled by an increase of Internet users at 72%.

Why is this happening now? Broadband penetration has reached a point where a significant audience can now view high quality online content. According to a November 8th eMarketer.com article, a huge online video market is continuing to develop with the US audience which is expected to grow to 190 million people by 2012. This will account for 88% of the Internet user population.

Cost is also a major factor in utilizing online video as a marketing tool. It's far less expensive to produce and distribute videos online than place traditional television media. Plus, you can accurately track impressions and viewer response, allowing the effect of a campaign to be measured, which has not been the case with traditional TV marketing. "Being able to produce faster and better videos in this new online environment with almost no media cost, makes viral video an invaluable tool for Creative Direction. And marketing stakeholders are doing it now," said Richard Parker, Creative Direction founder and CEO. He added, "This venue combines two of the things that we do best; develop great creative communications and track measurable user response."

As an example of success, the recent Burger King "Whopper Freakout" campaign, in which the fast food franchise claimed to no longer serve their most famous sandwich, pulled over 5 million views online in a few weeks. And the numbers are still climbing. Burger King was so pleased that, according to the December 2008 DMNews, they will use online video in their new campaign "Whopper virgins", featuring people who haven't heard of or tasted the sandwich.

To help clients take advantage of this new marketing opportunity, Creative Direction has launched an online video service, which is producing a number of online viral video campaigns. As published in a survey conducted in December 2008 by PermissionTV, more than two-thirds of the marketing communities say they will focus their budgets toward online video this year.
